EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW

Academic Standing Policy
A revised Academic Standing policy went into effect with the beginning of this fall semester. Unlike in previous semesters, students dismissed for academic reasons must sit out at least a semester before applying for readmission. Registration through Continuing Education as a non-degree-seeking student will no longer be an available option for dismissed students.

PICK-N-CHOOSE

“Fresh 15” Fridays!
Today’s food prep session is called “Oodles of Noodles”! Learn how to prepare pasta in the microwave, and how to make basil pesto and an Italian herb sauce for the noodles! The sauces will be made with fresh fruits and vegetables grown on the UMD Campus. All recipes for Fresh 15 Fridays are designed for dorm room cooking. Friday, September 30, Garden Room, 10-11:30am. Please RSVP by emailing ddecker@d.umn.edu.

Government and Nonprofit Career Fair

The Government & Nonprofit Career Fair allows candidates to pursue professional opportunities and internships in all levels of government and nonprofit agencies. The job fair is open only to students and alumni from participating colleges and universities.

Find out what to do ahead of time, proper attire, making a good impression, questions to ask, and what to do after the fair.

Resume Drop-in Hours

Get immediate feedback on your resume, no appointment necessary! These 10-15 minute sessions are for students who already have a written resume and have reviewed the Resume Guidelines in the Career Handbook. You MUST bring a paper copy of your resume to the session, and then receive feedback from Career Services staff.

If you are a beginning resume writer, develop your resume prior to attending one of these sessions by using the Resume Writing section of the Career Handbook.

For those of you who might not know, SHAC stands for Student Health Advisory Committee, which is a group of dedicated students who act as a student voice to UMD Health Services and school administration. Sounds cool, right? SHAC will be holding a forum to gather students on campus with the aim of hearing suggestions for improving the environment here at our lovely UMD. They would LOVE impute from other students for new and relevant projects to work on for this coming year. Anyone interested is welcome to come and join them! Can’t make it but have some great ideas? LISTEN to student health care needs.
EVALUATE Health Services policy.
PROMOTE public health at UMD.
