Do you know which fork is for your salad? Where do you place your napkin when leaving the table?
Knowing proper social hour and table manners can be extremely important to your success in the business world. You may be called upon to use your dining skills at job interviews, meetings with your supervisor or clients, or in a networking session such as "Business After Hours" sponsored by a civic or service club. You may be surprised at just how many times you will be put into a situation where you will need to display your dining etiquette. Being knowledgeable and practiced, you will feel confident and at ease in any setting.
Learn how to professionally handle dining situations at the Dining for Success event. This tutorial dinner teaches students proper etiquette and manners needed to succeed. The event begins with a pre-dinner social with appetizers and beverage. The dinner is a multi-coursed meal followed with dessert and beverage. This event is open to UMD students only and you must register in advance in GoldPASS. Cost per student is $20. Sponsored by UMD Career Services.
