The 5 Love Languages: How can you improve the relationships in your life?
Presented by Barbara Miron, LICSW, and Jonathan Barry, LICSW, Counselors at UMD Health Services. .
We give and receive love in different ways. According to Gary Chapman, PH.D., there are five primary love languages and one's "love tank" gets filled (or emptied) based on how love is communicated in our relationships with friends, children, parents, loved ones and significant others. Learning the love languages helps one better communicate love and truly feel loved in return. This workshop will be fun, interactive, and informational. The content will answer 5 "what questions" through stories, discussions, music and movie clips. 1) What's in this for me? 2) What are love tanks and languages? 3) What are my primary love languages? 4) What can I do to discover what someone else's are? 5) What if it's different and I don't know how to speak that language?

UMD's Office of Civic Engagement is partnering to host the 2nd Annual Creative Expression Contest, which will help raise awareness of poverty and homelessness in the Twin Ports Area. We will be showcasing the submissions at an Art Expo and Silent Auction Fundraiser in April to raise funds and support for "Heading Home St. Louis County—Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness" and Community Connect, formerly known as Project Homeless Connect.
You can join in this initiative this spring semester by participating in the Creative Expression Contest through writing, artistic design, musical talents, or video production based around the question,"What does home mean to you?" We want to involve students with various artistic talents, and this is a great way to embrace creativity and community engagement. Visit this link to read the complete contest description or find the entry forms.
