How does sustainability relate to your major? Check out the UMD Sustainability Fair for answers! Sustainability is the balance achieved when a society is able to provide for its own needs without compromising the needs of future generations. During the week of April 16-20, the Spring 2012 UMD Sustainability Fair will feature a number of engaging presentations about international sustainable development, while highlighting connections the Duluth community. The main event will take place with a sustainability tabling event and community art making event in Kirby Student Center.

Kirby Program Board's annual big Spring concert falls on April 21st, and is a lineup you won't want to miss! This fitness workshop is designed to teach basic fitness skills which can be used at home or in the gym. Topics covered in the workshop will include proper warm-up, exercises to build strength and cardio, proper cool-down, nutrition basics, and more! No experience necessary!

Hosted by UMD Health Services' Counseling Department. The overall goal of workshop is to educate students on how to recognize when use becomes a problem. The research-based workshop will include why video games and internet can be so appealing and addictive and will discuss some of physical, emotional, and interpersonal warning signs that it may be a problem. Participants will leave with information on self-help skills as well as where to go to get help. Prizes!!

In the Duluth area you can be a part of True North; True North AmeriCorps members make a difference by serving youth in the areas of tutoring, mentoring and out-of-school programs.
AmeriCorps positions are available for next year at the UMD Office of Civic Engagement. These positions are a 30-40+ hour a week commitment and are designed for college graduates.
