Make a difference this Spring Break! Join volunteers from UMD and the greater Duluth community as we help re-build homes in and near Smithville, Texas, that were damaged by the wildfires of September 2011. Trip planners are coordinating the effort through Faith Village and the Bastrop County Long Term Recovery Team. The registration fee is $430 per person - due February 8, 2013. UMD will offer a Summer Short-term Study Abroad in Poland program (tentative June 18 to July 21, $3400). Program includes a 4 credit general microbiology course at the Wroclaw Institute of Genetics and Microbiology along with lectures and tours to introduce participants to the geography, history, and culture of eastern Europe. Opportunities for weekend travel to Prague, Berlin, Warsaw, Gdansk, etc.

Theatre UMD presents the midwest premiere of "Tales from the Bad Years." Each song tells a story about being young, feeling old, and wanting something big. Playwright & Lyricist state: "The bad years make the best stories." - The show is about life in your 20s. It is a compilation of 12 characters' stories about the difficult and wonderful transition into adult life.

During the week of December 10-14, the Library will host a series of FREE stress relief events for students. On Monday at 1pm, attend a yoga workshop in the Library Rotunda. On Tuesday, come get a 10 minute chair massage in Library 119 from 1-3pm. On Wednesday, attend a workshop on managing test anxiety in Library 116.
