Greetings from the Office of Student Life! I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all of their hard work during the past semester and wish everyone well on their final exams and projects!

University offices will be closed December 22nd though December 26th and December 29th through January 1st. Offices will re-open Wednesday January 2, 2013.

• See if you are on track with the 4-year career plan
• Find out "What Can I Do With This Major?" and research careers
• Read our Career Services Blog: Peer Into Your Career, especially the post "Make the Most of Your Winter Break"
• Check out the Graduate Follow-up Report and see where recent UMD grads are working (company/job title) or continuing their education (school/program). Find out salary ranges by major and much more!
• Prepare your resume, cover letter or personal statement and submit your documents for professional review (allow 10 working days)
• Take online assessments and learn about your interests, personality and skills
• Practice interviewing online. InterviewStream is a free, online tool you can use to select interview questions, record yourself answering the questions, review and retry until you are confident in your answers, and share with others for their input
• Learn how to present yourself professionally on social media sites and use them to advance your career
• Find resources to help you conduct a job search
• Search for internships and jobs on GoldPASS, LandIt!, GoingGlobal and other sites
• Plan to attend Spring Job and Internship Fairs; sign up for the U of M Job and Internship Fair
• See if graduate school is right for you and research graduate schools
• Download (pdf) or read the Career Handbook online - everything you need to know in one place
