Benefits of CITS

The CITS program benefits both high school students and schools. Students who participate in the CITS program can jump start their college career by earning their first credits while in high school. In addition, these students can transition to college life much easier since they have first-hand experience what is expected academically.

By participating in the CITS program, high schools and teachers can strengthen their school and curriculum, while challenging their students to achieve even more. UMD's CITS program is accredited by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP).

UMD demonstrated to the NACEP accreditation committee how the UMD CITS program, partners, faculty, and students meet the required NACEP standards governing curriculum, assessment, evaluation, and student, teacher and faculty credentials. By securing NACEP accreditation, UMD strengthens the transferability of UMD CITS credit nationwide.
