Bio

Andy is a Senior at UMD studying Secondary Education and Educational Technologies. For the entire 2013–2014 school year, Andy studied abroad in Worcester, England. While there, he explored a lot, frequented Wales, and met some amazing people. Realizing that he wants to stay a part of the international education community, he became a peer adviser. On campus, he often helps out in the KUMD radio station and frequents the planetarium's free shows. Off campus, he enjoys exploring Duluth, biking, and ice fishing. At home he can be found cooking behind the stove, absorbed in a good book, or in front of his laptop: writing and playing video games.

Most memorable view during your study abroad experience?
My friends, Nicole, Tom and I took a trip to the nearby Malvern Hills on a cloudy, rainy Spring day. It was a tough, muddy climb to the top of the Beacon, the tallest hill, and when we got to the top, the clouds broke, and you could see for miles in every direction over the misty countryside.

What makes you happy?
Animals, traveling, serving good food that I've made, and the little *DING* when you're waiting for someone to message you back.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?
A good breakfast smoothie, and work/ school. Otherwise, I'll sleep till noon.

Best advice to future study abroad student?
Even if you think you can't, you can. You might have to work like crazy, but even your most out of this world plans can become a reality.

What's the next item on your bucket list?
Do my student teaching abroad in Slovenia.
