Bridget Ideker passed her Final Oral Exam on August 20, 2012.  Her special area of interest is in child welfare practice and community organizing. Bridget is looking for a position in child protection or tribal child welfare in Duluth and the surrounding area.

 

photo of KristinaKristina Ostrowski passed her Final Oral Exam on August 31, 2012. Her special area of interest is child welfare practice. Kristina works at Nystrom and Associates in Baxter, Minnesota and she recently competed her field placement at Morrison County Social Services. She will be seeking employment in public or tribal child welfare.

ChaQuana McEntyre passed her final oral exam on August 31, 2012.  ChaQuana was a Child Welfare Scholar and recently completed her Field II placement at SLCPHHS. ChaQuana will be employed at SLCPHHS doing family group work. Her goal is to become an LICSW and work in the field of sexology.

photo of AliciaAlicia Bartel passed her final oral exam on August 10th, 2012. Her special area of interest is in child welfare and mental health. She completed her Field II internship at St. Louis County in the ICWA Unit. Alicia will be moving to Rochester, MN to work for Family Service Rochester as an In-Home Therapist. In this position, Alicia will utilize her skills working with families and children addressing concerns of truancy, severe neglect and abuse, and mental illness. 


Chandra Clark passed her Final Oral Exam on August 21, 2012.  Her special area of interest is in child welfare practice. Chandra is looking for a position in child protection or tribal child welfare in Duluth and the surrounding area.

Amy is a Professional Foster Care Case Manager for North Home Children and Family Services in Grand Rapids, MN. photo of NickNick Haas passed his Final Oral Exam in July of 2012. His current position is a Behavioral Therapist working with children with autism.   Nick says, "I am keeping my options open and looking for a possible position as a school social worker." He is working in the Twin Cities.

Kelsey will be moving to Colombus, Indiana following graduation and seeking employment as a school social worker.

Matthias is a Child Protection Case Manager for St. Louis County Public Health and Human Services in Hibbing, MN. He will begin work as a Trainer for the Minnesota Child Welfare Training System with a focus on the Signs of Safety Curriculum.

Tory is interested in working at a college or university and did fieldwork with the International Student Office at UMD. She is presently employed at Planned Parenthood. Immediately following graduation Tory will be participating in a Culture Health and Social Welfare Policy course through the University of Minnesota. in South Korea.

Her special area of interest is in child welfare practice and clinical social work. Cecelia also passed her Licensed Graduate Social Work (LGSW) Exam prior to receiving her MSW. Cecelia plans to seek a position in public or tribal child welfare or clinical social work in her home community of Grand Marais or the North Shore of Lake Superior.

Jody Petite passed her Final Oral Exam in December 2011.

 

Nancy

Nicole Cook passed her Final Oral Exam in December 2011.

Nicole works at Range Mental Health in the ADAPT Program.  She is pursuing her LICSW and would like to eventually be a clinical supervisor.

Amy

 

Amy Gordon passed her Final Oral Exam in October 2011.

Her special area of interest is in Child Protection. Amy is currently in the interviewing process.

Kim D

Kim Dwinnell-Dillon passed her Final Oral Exam in October 2011.

Her special area of interest is in child welfare practice. Kim is employed as an individual counselor at Northern Pines Mental Health Center in Brainerd, Minnesota working in the schools with children grades 5-8.

Justin

Justin Martin passed his Final Oral Exam in October 2011.

Justin received a child welfare scholarship and completed his fieldwork at St. Louis County Health and Human Services. He is currently doing some community work with Cyclists of Gitchee Gumee Shores (COGGS) in the development of accessible bike trails for all. He is seeking employment in child welfare practice.

Wright

Kathleen Wright passed her Final Oral Exam in September 2011.

Kathleen completed her Final Master's Project Portfolio with an emphasis on public/tribal child welfare and mental health. Kathleen plans to interview at rural mental health agencies with a focus in cultural competency. She is preparing for the LGSW exam and her long-term goal is to obtain her LICSW.

Scally

Linh Scally passed her Final Oral Exam in September 2011.

Linh will continue her work as a Social Worker at Northland Counseling Center in Grand Rapids doing psychotherapy. Linh is also working toward attaining her LICSW.

Lindsay Guthrie Passed her Final Oral Exam in May of 2011.

Lindsay completed her Final Master's Project Portfolio with an emphasis on Child Welfare Practice. Following graduation, Lindsay will move to the Twin Cities to pursue a career in child welfare.

Becca Maki passed her Fina Oral Exam in May of 2011.

Becca will continue her work as a social worker in the Initial Intervention Unit of St. Louis County Public Health and Human Services in Virginia, Minnesota. Becca received a child welfare scholarship through the Center for Regional and Tribal Child Welfare Studies while at UMD.

Kelli Bodie-Miner passed her Final Oral Exam in May of 2011.

Her Final Master's Project Portfolio had an emphasis on clinical social work with a special focus on Forensic Social Work Practice. Kelli will continue her employment following graduation with the Minnesota Department of Human Services Sex Offender Treatment Program in Moose Lake, MN

Sig Haller passed his Final Oral Exam in May of 2011.

Sig's Final Master's Portfolio has an emphasis on clinical social work. Sig will continue his employment at Woodland Hills in Duluth and plans to pursue an LICSW in order to eventually do clinical and trauma-focused social work with children.
