Carina Barker is an adjunct instructor for the department of social work. She has taught Evidenced Based Practice (SW 8070) and currently is teaching Advanced Practice Social Work (SW 8443).
Carina is currently working as a clinical social worker for St. Luke's Hillside Center. She provides diagnostic assessments, treatment planning and out patient individual psychotherapy. Carina works with many different mental health issues such as anxiety disorders, depression, adjustment disorders and post traumatic stress disorder. The population served includes children to the elderly. Carina enjoys providing out patient therapy to clients as well as consulting with the in patient hospital.
Carina obtained a bachelors degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. She continues to be involved with their social work program as a community advisory committee member. Carina received her masters degree (MSW) in 2000 from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. She is proud of her education and thrilled to be involved again with the program. She is licensed by the state of Minnesota as an independent clinical social worker (LICSW).
