|Description of Field Activities
Field I placement opportunities could involve being assigned as secondary worker on actual cases, court report writing experiences, screening opportunities, family assessments, parent education, child protection interviews, and shadowing child protection workers. If the student is not a child welfare scholar, there would be ample opportunities for case work with people with disabilities. Because we are a small agency, the opportunity for a wide variety of case management experiences is readily available.
Field II placement opportunities available would be projects with the Adult Mental Health Initiative planning for community based services and projects, work projects for the development of a family visiting center, and projects with the homelessness coalition. Currently, all program areas are undergoing vast amount of changes allowing the opportunity for a student intern to assist this agency with various projects that are required by the Department of Human Services. The program areas that are changing are chemical dependency assessments and treatment requirements, Developmental Disability budget changes, and mental heath service delivery.
