HDC’s mission is to lead our communities by providing integrated, culturally respectful mental health and addiction services that foster hope, self-determination, and recovery. Our focus on serving those most in need improves the quality of life for all. The Safe Schools Healthy Students Program serves students of Duluth, Hermantown and Proctor school districts who suffer from a mental health diagnosis. The services provided include psychotherapy, psychiatric services, psychological evaluations, case management and In-Home services. |
| Description of Field Activities |
In Field I the experiences available to students include interviewing, interpersonal relations, case assessment/planning, case management, counseling, therapy groups and teaching. In Field II the experiences available to students include advanced practice with individuals, families and/or small groups; advanced practice with organizations; advanced community social work and assessment of cultural competency; integration of theory and research; interpersonal skills activities; advanced policy analysis; and diversity activities.
