| Description of Field Activities: |
Interns Based out of Safe Haven Shelter: Involvement in committees organizing programs and events, working with education advocate to create and carry out presentations on battering, opportunity to both attend and help put on trainings, involvement in the fundraising committee, work on focus group research, help planning community events, participate in creating and carrying out plans to garner community support for battered women, opportunities for positions statement and legislative actions, doing needs assessments for shelter residents, data analysis for shelter and educational purposes, etc.
Interns Based out of Safe Haven’s Legal Advocacy Department: Potential involvement includes participating in the further development of the new Justice Center, public relations for new Justice Center, opportunities to attend and help facilitate trainings, participation on the fund raising committee, analysis of focus group data, independent work with battered women, systems work research, help organize community events, report writing, opportunities to participate in legislative actions, opportunities to do community data analysis, advocate for battered women in the justice system, etc |
