Portfolio Timeline


  Select and request faculty to be your Primary and Secondary Readers on your Portfolio committee. (They will be the ones to provide guidance and feedback to you regarding your Portfolio)
  Your Academic Advisor must serve as either your Primary Reader or Second Reader of your Portfolio committee.
  Arrange to meet with your Primary Reader and review Portfolio process.


By the 10th Week of Spring Semester (or after 12 completed credits of concentration year courses)

Timetable for Completing ePortfolio, including specific elements
  Submit your draft Portfolio to your Primary Reader. (you may be missing your Field II final evaluation)
  Your Primary Reader will provide you with oral and written comments about your Portfolio and then forward your Portfolio to your Second Reader for review, once you have made corrections.


At Least 2 Weeks before your Final Oral Exam

  Submit Portfolio (10 components as outlined)to your Primary Reader. If approved the Primary will pass on to the Secondary Reader.

Schedule Final Oral Exam

Final Oral Exams will generally take place in the final week of the Spring semester through the Wednesday of Spring Final's Week. You will, in consultation with your two Portfolio Readers, be responsible for scheduling your Oral Presentation.



On or before the Final Week of the Semester

  (See MSW Handbook for Details)
  Those students needing to complete Field II during the summer will not be eligible to take their Final Oral Exam until they have successfully completed their Field II placement. They will need to submit their Field II ratings on concentration year practice behaviors (also known as the Field II evaluation) as one of their portfolio elements. Only students who have successfully completed all Field II requirements may sit for their Final Oral Exam.
