The Transportation
Data Research Laboratory (TDRL), located in Duluth, Minnesota, is a part
of the Northland Advanced Transportation Systems Research Laboratories
(NATSRL) sponsored by the Minnesota
Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT), University of Minnesota Duluth
Science and Engineering, and University of Minnesota Center for Transportation Studies (CTS)
and ITS Institute. TDRL's research
focuses on all issues related to dealing with large scaled transportation
data, which include efficient archival strategies, data processing
algorithms for large-scaled ITS data, data quality management, efficient
sharing of data, secure storage management, and developments of
visualization and performance analysis tools. TDRL manages a Data Center
that collects and houses Mn/DOT's state-level ITS transportation data,
and provides on line data resources to Mn/DOT and public.
