2007-9 UMD Catalog - external pagehttp://www.d.umn.edu/catalogs/

Students in the Department of Theatre receive an intensive theatre education, and find their opportunities expanded upon graduation, moving with equal ease into recognized graduate programs and professional theatre. Additionally, the advanced student at UMD may take advantage of excellent faculty reputation and connections by pursuing internships in professional theaters across the country.

The Department of Theatres excellent reputation rests on its belief in individualized attention to the students development. We pride ourselves as much in excellent advisement of student artists as in the artistic merit of our productions.

The quality of learning is enhanced by limited class size, regular evaluations, and a process of individual advisement that sees the student from enrollment to graduation. A theatre education at UMD is a huge positive step toward a rewarding theatrical career.
