Scholarships 2007 - 2008 Available for Application

The School of Fine Arts and the Department of Theatre administer several scholarships for new and returning theatre majors. Students who plan to be enrolled full time, are in good academic standing, and are officially enrolled as theatre majors are invited to apply for the scholarships listed below. The application process will provide the theatre faculty with the information necessary to make its determinations.

Applications must be made to the Department of Theatre

by Monday, March 20, 2008

The theatre faculty will then make nominations from the pool of applicants, determine awards for those scholarships administered by the department, and forward nominations for the Gershgol Scholarship to the School of Fine Arts for review. Scholarship awards will be announced at the spring theatre banquet, and range in amounts from $600 to $2000

The Anne Davis Uppgren Award

  1. Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Arts students qualify for this award.

  2. to one (1) student.

  3. enrolled formally as a full time, returning theatre major

  4. with demonstrated outstanding contribution in theatre

  5. in good academic standing

  6. financial need is not a factor

The Marshall Center Awards for Excellence in Theatre or Dance

  1. Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Arts students qualify for this award.

  2. to two (2) students.

  3. enrolled formally as a full-time, returning theatre major

  4. with demonstrated outstanding contribution in theatre

  5. in good academic standing

  6. financial need is not a factor.

The Isaac and Rose Gershgol Scholarships, School of Fine Arts

  1. Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Arts students qualify for this award.

  2. to two (2) students.

  3. enrolled formally as a full time, returning theatre major

  4. with demonstrated outstanding contribution in theatre

  5. good to outstanding student as a performer or theatre artist

  6. with demonstrated financial need.

The Kanter Family Scholarship

  1. Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Arts students qualify for this award.

  2. enrolled formally as a full-time, returning theatre major

  3. entering junior year, in good academic standing

  4. based on talent and need.

  5. to one (1) student.

Lois Casmir Birk Memorial Scholarship

  1. only Bachelor of Fine Arts students qualify for this award.

  2. enrolled formally as a full time, returning theatre major

  3. with demonstrated artistic achievement in performance or design and technical theatre

  4. financial need is not a factor.

  5. to one (1) student.
