This picture is Plate VII in Clarence King's Systematic Geology, published in 1878 as part of the record of his Geological Survey of the 40th Parallel, 1867-1872. The plate is based on a sketch by Gilbert Munger. He was guest artist on the survey in 1869 and 1870. In all, ten chromos by Munger are used in the book.
