#160. Cazenovia Wheat (Corn) Field. 30 x 45, oil on canvas. "Gilbert Munger" lower left. This is a slightly less abstracted view of the field than the depiction in painting #15. The height of the shocks and the cut off plants at 2 foot intervals shows that these paintings actually depict a corn field. The painting has descended from Roger Munger through his daughter to the present owner. QFD Pl.69. Tweed 2003 Exhibition n.66. Munger visited a friend there in the Fall of 1900. Image from Tweed Museum, Univ. of Minnesota Duluth, transparency.
