In conjunction with PBS 8 - WDSE-TV and its recent broadcast of Simon Schama’s The Power of Art series, the Tweed Museum of Art presents a group of artworks from its collection, created or influenced by the artists of the Power of Art series: Caravaggio, Bernini, Rembrandt, Jacques-Louis David, J.W.M. Turner, Van Gogh, Picasso, and Mark Rothko.

Selected by Tweed Museum curator Peter Spooner, these artworks are installed within the context of the museum’s current Portrait, Identity, Culture exhibition. A series of labels explain the why the curator chose these works, and their relationship to the artists of Simon Schama’s The Power of Art, while the series plays continuously on a video monitor.
