Private Tutoring Requests and References

Requests for private tutoring are accepted from UMD students and from the surrounding community. Requests typically fall into three categories:

1. Parents seeking general assistance for elementary-age students
2. Parents seeking subject-specific assistance for secondary students
3. College students seeking class-specific assistance

Requests for private tutoring are recorded in a notebook which is made available to students tutoring in the Center. When a tutor takes a request, s/he contacts the requesting party directly to make specific tutoring arrangements regarding fee, time, and place. A minimum fee of $20 per hour is suggested.
