Student Accounts Receivable

Your billing address information

UM Pay electronic billing is the official means of generating tuition bills to all University of Minnesota students. The UM Pay electronic bill will automatically send an email notification to the student's U of M email address when the bill is ready to be viewed on line. Please see Electronic Billing and Payment Information.

Students who are exempt (non-currently enrolled students and students who request to be exempt) from UM Pay electronic billing will be sent a paper billing statement via US Mail. Paper billing statements are sent to one of the following address in this order:

  1. Billing address (this address is used for bill mailing only). If you want your billing or account statements sent to a billing address rather than your current address, you may add a billing address, on the Web, or by contacting Student Accounts Receivable. It is your responsibility to report any changes in this address.
  2. Mailing address (this is the address most frequently used for mailings from the University). It is your responsibility to report any change in address. Always verify your address when you register. If you register on-line, you can correct your address when you register. If you register in person, verify that the address printed on your course confirmation form is correct and immediately ask registration staff to make any necessary corrections. If no mailing address is identified, your bill is sent to your home address.
  3. Home (permanent) address.
Allow approximately one week from the billing date for your billing statements to reach you by mail. You can verify and update your mailing address or add a specific billing address on the Student Self-Service Website under View/Change Your Personal Information. You can also submit an address change to the Solon Campus Center Information Desk.

Remember: It is your responsibility to maintain a correct address on your University record at all times regardless of electronic billing.
