Newspaper Ad Format
The hiring department may advertise the job opening in the newspaper
once the requisition has been received, approved, and posted on the internet
by the UMD Department of Human Resources.
You MUST SUBMIT your ad to the Department of Human Resources for review
and approval before sending to the newspaper.
Your add has to read exactly the same as the online posting. The following
information may be included in your ad:Hiring department
Job Title
Specify if continuing or temporary
Specify if full-time or part-time
Job Requisition Number
Salary as approved on the Job Requisition
List Essential Qualifications from approved Job Requisition or refer to
the posting on the internet
Deadline date/closing date
Applicants must apply online at

Example:
University of Minnesota Duluth, Dept of___ , has an opening, Job Title,
(Continuing or Temporary, Full-time or Part time. Job Req #, Salary. Essential
Qualifications:________. Deadline date on (mm/dd/yy). Please apply online
at https://employment.umn.edu/. If you do not have access to a computer,

Note: Newspaper charges depend on the length of the ad, the number of
days the advertisement runs as well as the days of the week it is advertised.
For example, charges for a Sunday advertisement would be $12.52 per line,
per day (with 18-20 spaces per line). We recommend that you check with
