Exit Interview
Form
Why are we conducting an exit interview and collecting exit interview
data?
• To ascertain the reason why the employee is leaving, and in
case of a voluntary termination, try to retain desirable employees whenever
possible. (An employee may be leaving for a job that pays more money,
but she or he may have been prompted to look for position for an entirely
different reason).
• To help improve the working environment in all University departments.
• To retain the goodwill of the employee, the employee’s
family, and the employee’s friends toward the university.
• Determine if there is a way to salvage the employment relationship.
What will the data be used for?
• To reduce turnover and increase employee satisfaction at UMD
• To develop practices which would improve on current working
conditions.
• To identify any legal problems.
• To identify and address any patterns of concerns.
