The hiring department may advertise the job opening in the newspaper once the requisition has been received, approved, and posted on the University's Employment System by the UMD Department of Human Resources and Equal Opportunity.

You MUST SUBMIT your ad to the Department of Human Resources and Equal Opportunity for review and approval before sending to the newspaper.


Your add has to read exactly the same as the University's online Employment posting. The following information may be included in your ad:

Hiring department
Job Title
Specify if continuing or temporary
Specify if full-time or part-time
Job Requisition Number
Salary as approved on the Job Requisition
List Essential Qualifications from approved Job Requisition or refer to the posting on the internet
Deadline date/closing date
Applicants must apply online at https://employment.umn.edu/ Example:

University of Minnesota Duluth, Dept of___ , has an opening for (Job Title), (Continuing or Temporary, Full-time or Part time. Job Req #, Salary. Essential Qualifications:________.
