SCHEDULING INTERVIEWS
After reviewing the applications in relation to your selection criteria,
you may select applicants for in-person interviews. The following are
the recommended guidelines. Any deviation from these guidelines should
be discussed in advance with the UMD Department of Human Resources.
You may choose to increase these numbers:

4 or more |
| 31-60 |
6 or more |
| 60-100 |
at least 10% |
| 100 and over |
10 |
As the selection process goes on, it may become evident that there are
two or three applicants who are better matched to the job than others.
A second or third round of interviews to obtain additional information
may be appropriate.
Finding the best match between your needs and the candidate's skills
and abilities is the goal. You may need to review the job description
that you started out with and even the initial questions you posed when
you decided to post the position.
