Figuring Holiday Pay

Q. How do you figure holiday pay for part time % appt employees?

A. The first thing to remember is that their pay should be the same for the week whether there is a holiday in it or not. The second thing to remember is that it doesn't make any difference how they work that % each week. Therefore,

100% = 40 hrs - 8 hrs hol = 32 hrs wkd + 8 hrs hol pay = 40 hrs

80% = 32 hrs - 6.4 hrs hol = 25.6 hrs wkd + 6.4 hrs hol pay = 32 hrs

75% = 30 hrs - 6 hrs hol = 24 hrs wkd + 6 hrs hol pay = 30 hrs
