Vacation and Sick Leave Carryover
The former department is responsible for processing the necessary paperwork to credit the new department for the unused vacation leave. Payment is based on the employee's previous hourly rate of pay. Unused vacation leave from the former department can be carried over only if an employee is eligible to accrue vacation in the new department. If not, the former department pays the employee for unused vacation days. Employees are entitled to carry unused sick leave to a new department but the former department does not compensate the new department for the unused sick leave. |
