Marilyn Barnstorf
Marilyn Barnstorf serves the UMD Library as their government documents manager. She has excelled in her work and has added important bibliographic information to the library catalog for many of the government publications.
Through her work with the Library automated system, Marilyn has improved access to the government documents and enabled the reference librarians to serve their clients with much greater efficiency. Her work in adding these publications to the library catalog is an important part of the library's new wmphasis upon electronic information resources.
In the past two years, Marilyn has added approximately 59,000 titles to the Library catalog and patrons of the UMD Library are now able to access and use government publications 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Marilyn regularly comes up with ideas on how workflow and procedures might be performed better and also how services to librarians and library users can be improved. She is a valuable asset and contributed to UMD's success.
It is my honor and privilege to present Marilyn with this Outstanding Service Award.
