Outstanding Service Award
2004-2005
Linda Olcott
Linda Olcott is an Associate Administrator in Facilities Management. No matter
what task she is given she works above and beyond what is expected. While serving
as the chair of the Facilities Management Safety Committee, Linda took the lead
to significantly change the Department's Safety Program. They now have a positive,
proactive approach, focusing on Safety and Health & Wellness and rewarding
employees for doing the right things to be safe and healthy. All of this was
in addition to her regular ongoing duties which she continued to perform in
an exemplary manner.
Yet another important example is this year Linda chaired an incentive committee
that was successful in increasing giving across the UMD campus to the United
Combined Campaign. Whether Linda is working on a power point presentation for
the Regents, communicating with our employees the quality of her work and the
product she develops is always excellent. She has a very high work ethic and
performs to the best of her abilities.
She has an outstanding work ethic and projects a positive image to everyone.
Linda has been involved in many department and campus committees. She is very
dedicated to each cause she takes on. Her dedication to UMD is shown through
her involvement as past Professional Staff Council President and currently she
is the Civil Service Committee representative for UMD. Additionally, she has
been a co-chair for the Heart Walk for Facilities Management the past three
years. Her dedication to her job is exemplified through her willingness to share
her past experience to help the department in developing the customer survey,
safety and wellness improvements and various event arrangements.
For all of the above reasons, I am pleased to present Linda with this award.
