Outstanding Service Awards (2006-2007
Betty Myshack
Continuous Service Award
Betty is known for an amazing ability to multitask which
enables her to consistently perform above and beyond expectations even
under very challenging circumstances. As Biology moved into the Swenson
Science Building, many issues and problems associated with the move fell
to Betty and the staff she supervises. She did an exemplary job organizing
these projects. A change of that magnitude is always daunting, but even
more so when the person responsible already has a challenging job, managing
budgets, grants and supervising. However, Betty is so innovative in organizing
and streamlining, and the department’s business is handled so smoothly
and efficiently that “most members of the department are not even
aware of all the work she does.”
Despite her own workload, Betty is always willing to assist. She is constantly
suggesting more efficient ways for faculty to handle paper work, finding
ways to save money on purchases, locating difficult to find equipment
and supplies and negotiating with vendors for better prices. Many staff
had commented on Betty’s initiative in solving problems for them.
Betty is very dedicated to her job and demonstrates it in her assistance
in helping faculty, students, and staffs solve their problems.
