2007-2008 OUTSTANDING SERVICE AWARDS
Continuous Service Award
Mary Lynn Garro's efficiency expertise and calm demeanor provide a haven
in a hectic School of Business and Economics office. Her knack for analyzing,
improving and streamlining departmental processes, all while carrying
out her usual duties in a fast paced environment that is punctuated by
a steady stream of student visits, questions and needs has earned her
the real appreciation of both her coworkers and the students she serves.
Her volunteered contributions have a broad span, from design efficiency
to marketing improvements to technology. She has reformatted departmental
forms so that they require less time for students to complete and the
critical data is easier for staff to find. She also recognized the weakness
in recruiting materials and redesigned them. MaryLynn even performed all
the planning and research to support a funding proposal for digitally
imaging all their student records.
That same dedication and initiative is evident in the other areas, as
well. MaryLynn has volunteered to assist the Committee for Awards, Recognition,
and Excellence in numerous ways. It was said of her volunteering that
she, "does more work than what is expected of any given person on
MaryLynn's efficiency, positive demeanor, team spirit and customer support
define the term "dedication," and I am pleased to present her
with this award.
