2008-2009 OUTSTANDING SERVICE AWARDS
Continuous Service Award
Noel Fitzgerald plays a critical role in the Facilities Management department, providing exceptional customer service, frequently under stressful situations. Her supervisor notes that, despite occasionally having to deal with a very irate customer, she never loses patience or demonstrates frustration, and she has an unfailing ability to stay calm in the face of a major crisis. When you are the front line for facility complaints, it says a lot about your character and abilities that you handle them cheerfully and maintain a professional approach.
Noel’s duties in Facilities extend far beyond handling the front desk crises and complaints. One very important area of responsibility for Noel is maintaining employee training records. For the monthly safety training, she has developed a process that provides reminders to those who haven’t completed their monthly training, and assists them when there are reasons that it can’t be completed. She has also created procedures for communicating necessary training information to the supervisors. Like the safety training, Noel is also responsible for tracking the training of new employees. This ensures departmental compliance with University policies and procedures.
For her incredible service to her department and the campus, not to mention grace under pressure, I’m proud to present Noel with this award.
