Outstanding Service Award Recipient
Nancy works in the Academic Administration office. Since Nancy has taken over responsibilities for the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program or UROP, UMD is consistently the first to submit materials to the UROP office at the University of Minnesota. In addition to the innovations she introduced to speed up the process, she also organized all of the proposals.
Nancy’s overriding concern are for students to have the best opportunities available to them and that processes are as user-friendly as possible. She experiments with and improves processes that she controls, suggests changes in other areas, and constantly works against deadlines, often dealing with tardy submission from others. This happened most recently with a proposal for a new master’s level degree, and the associated courses. Her dedication in this situation resulted in meeting the deadline for Regents approval. The good news is that the program will likely begin in the planned academic term.
Her good nature and positive spirit are always evident and could not be more appreciated. For being extremely dependable, always cheerful, timely, energetic, resourceful, respectful, and competent, I’m pleased to present Nancy with this Outstanding Service Award.
