UMD "Student Employee of the Year" 2006

First Runner Up

Brandon Richards

Please accept this letter as my nomination for Brandon Richards as UMD Student Employee of the Year. Enclosed is my nomination form.

I am please to offer Brandon Richards name as consideration of this award. I feel that Bandon excels in all areas of the selection criteria. I have heard many compliments about his job performance from ITSS staff as well as faculty members, students and customers. Brandon goes above and beyond his duties as a student employee of ITSS and always is willing to take time to help others. I hold him in the highest regard.

One of the many contributions that Brandon makes to our department is this knowledge of the software programs available to the campus community. During the past two years he has also become quite knowledgeable in trouble shooting hardware and is able to repair computers in the field. This is very beneficial to our students with classes and open labs so that computers are available when needed.

Every semester Brandon trains newly hired lab consultants about the software and hardware in our computer labs. He created a Training Presentation for these students and that is now available for reference on the ITSS lab consultant web page.

Brandon enjoys technology and is a perfect fit for his employment with ITSS. From my office I am able to observe the Lead Consultant area and have on many occasions seen Brandon’s interaction with people. He is friendly, kind and courteous. His talents and abilities are most impressive.

Thank you for your consideration of Brandon Richards as UMD’s Student Employee of the Year.
