On Thursday, April 27, 2000, UMD again participated in the 8th Annual "Take Our Daughters to Work" Day. "Take Our Daughters to Work" Day is a national education campaign, launched in 1993 by Ms. Foundation for Women designed to give girls, ages 9-15, an opportunity to view their current education as a direct link to future employment. It also created an opportunity for girls to interact with a caring adult and share dreams and ideas about their role in the world. Free t-shirts were provided to the girls. "Take Our Daughters to Work" Day is an annual free event open to all UMD employees.
