UMD Employee Wellness Program
Group Health Coaching Program

Enhance your wellbeing in a supportive group environment.

Learn

This program utlizes an approach that will help members identify areas of their lifestyle that may be getting in the way of their overall wellbeing and health goals. Members will assess their overall wellbeing through an online toolkit filled with resources and tips to create a customized plan to improve health.

Engage

The 10-week program offers support, accountability, motivation and resources to help you reach your wellness goals in a small group environment. Additionally, weekly meetings aim to build community and a fresh approach to health coaching through shared, yet self-selected behavior change goals related to healthy lifestyles.

Act

The Group Health Coaching Program focuses on customized goal setting based on individual strengths and implementing realistic action plans for self-selected areas of improvement. Knowlegeable facilitators, shared success stories of peers, and activities aimed at improving self-awareness help to provide the support, encouragement, accountablity and resources to help promote postitive lifestyle changes.

Meeting Format

The program involves weekly 45-minute meetings, optional weigh-ins, and group discussion.

  • Brief and nonjudmental group check in of current successes, strategies, and struggles
  • Activities and experiential learning opportunities to enhance overall wellbeing.
  • Open, positive, and respectful group discussion
  • Creating an intention or revision to personal action plan.

Optional weigh-ins will be available 15 minutes before and after each meeting. Alternate weigh-in times can be arranged by emailing mycoach@d.umn.edu

What does it cost?

FREE! This is a free program provided to UMD Faculty and Staff (you do not need to be a UPlan member to participate)!

If you are a UPlan member, you can earn 200 points for attending 8 out of 10 meetings. However, if you're a UPlan Member and have already participated in face-to-face or group health coaching program in the fall, you can earn 50 Wellness My Way Points

This 10-week Group Health Coaching program will meet once a week beginning the week of Tuesday, February 24. It will focus on using self-monitoring, problem solving, and goal setting motivators to promote an overall healthy lifestyle change!
