Joe Rogers: Dream Alive Program

February, 2005

Nationally-known speaker Joe Rogers brought his Dream Alive Program to UMD and Duluth during Black History Month, with the support of the UMD Office of Equal Opportunity and the UMD Diversity Commission.

Joe Rogers engaged over 500 UMD and Duluth high school students and other members of the UMD and Duluth communities in discussion and contemplation of the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. In addition to his primary presentation at UMD, he spoke to students at Duluth Central High School and Harbor City School, and met with the UMD Black Student Association.

Support was also contributed by the UMD Vice Chancellor for Finance and Operations, Duluth Public Schools, Calvary Baptist Church, and the UMD African American and American Indian learning resource centers, Black Student Association, College of Pharmacy, and Department of Education.
