Diversity Slogan Contest
Spring Semester, 2005
The Diversity Commission sponsored a slogan contest for students during Spring, 2005. The intention was to find a good slogan that celebrates diversity at UMD and highlights the value of difference through a positive message.
Over 90 creative and thoughtful student entries were received. Thatparan Somasuntheram (“Thatz”), UMD graduate student and the winning slogan’s creator, received a $50 UMD Stores gift certificate.
His slogan is Think outside the box … look inside the person.
This message will appear on T-shirts, buttons, and other Diversity Commission materials. T-shirts will be available for purchase beginning in November, 2005.
