Helping You Stay Healthy

Good health means much more than just the absence of illness. Improving and maintaining your health can profoundly impact your quality of life. The UMD Employee Health and Wellness Center was created to help UPlan members and their dependents become more healthy.

The Employee Health and Wellness Center offers a variety of services to help you obtain and maintain good health:

  • QuickCare Clinic - No appointment necessary
  • Medication Therapy Management Clinic - Appointment required
  • Health Coaching - Appointment required

Services are low-cost or free to eligible UPlan members.

Who May Use the Center?

QuickCare, MTM, and Health Coaching are available to all individuals who are in the UPlan Employee Medical Program. This includes active employees, early retirees, disabled participants, and spouses, who are participants in any one of the following plans:

  • Medica Elect & Essential - Base plan for Duluth and Twin Cities
  • U Classic Plus by HealthPartners - Available in most locations statewide
  • Insights by Medica - Available in Twin Cities, Duluth, and a few Greater MN locations
  • Medica Choice National - Available statewide
  • Medica HSA - Available statewide

None of the programs are available for retirees who are on the +65 programs that coordinate with Medicare coverage.

QuickCare Clinic

QuickCare is a clinic for UMD employees, spouses/same-sex domestic partners, and dependent children. An experienced nurse practitioner provides basic services such as treating ear pain and strep, to immunizations. No appointment is needed.

QuickCare is also available for other UMD employees who are not in the UPlan Medical program, but might be covered under a spouse/same sex domestic partners' medical program.

Medication Therapy Management Clinic

Medication Therapy Management (MTM) is a service offered at no cost to eligible UPlan participants. MTM helps creates a partnership between you, your physician and a trained pharmacist, who work together to ensure all of your medications are necessary, safe, effective and convenient.

UPlan Health Coaching

The health coach can help motivate and encourage eligible UPlan members to better health. The health coach provides unbiased, up-to-date information to assist you with the development of a personalized wellness plan to effectively change behavior.
