The following scholarship programs honor entering first-year students for past accomplishments and recognize the gifts and potential they bring to the UMD community.

President's Distinguished Student Scholarship Awarded to diverse students based on academic achievement. Up to $1,000 per yr/2 yrs. Completed application for admission December 15
UMD Alumni Scholarship Awarded to non-resident, non-reciprocity students who have a parent or a grandparent who graduated from UMD. Recipients will pay current Minnesota resident tuition, renewable subject to good academic standing. Completed application for admission Varies
First Scholarship UMD is offering a minimum of two non-renewable scholarships of $2,000 each for the 2015-2016 academic year to high school seniors who have participated on a FIRST team during their school career. Swenson Family Foundation Scholarship The University will consider students who are eligible for Minnesota resident tuition, plan to pursue a degree in chemistry or biochemistry and who demonstrate financial need, academic excellence, and aptitude. $14,000 per yr/4 yrs. Renewal of scholarships is contingent upon maintenance of a 3.0 University of Minnesota GPA and successful completion of 30 credits annually.
