Mission

The mission of UMD University Relations is to provide information, services and giving opportunities which support the university while fostering a relationship of goodwill and understanding with UMD alumni, the community and beyond.

Development

The Development office raises funds for scholarships, lectureships, endowed chairs, program enhancement, buildings and equipment, and a variety of other projects and programs all designed to promote excellence at UMD. Gifts come from alumni, friends, faculty and staff, foundations, and corporations.

Public Relations

(News Releases) Good news is everybody's business. The Public Relations office publicizes information about outstanding and out-of-the ordinary students and UMD events. They handle news conferences and serve as a news distribution effort locally, regionally, and nationally.

Alumni Relations

The Alumni Relations Office seeks to expand outreach and service to alumni through the UMD Alumni Association and collegiate and departmental units.

Publications

The UMD Publications Office is responsible for producing a number of official communications pieces for the campus and for providing professional advice to other departments.

Photography

The UMD photography office documents the dynamic people and programs of one of Minnesota's leading institutions of higher education. From academic programs to the athletics department, from the local, regional, and national media to UMD alumni and friends.
