Phil Choo Wins Judges Row Award
UMD received twelve awards at the 2005 Lake Superior Advertising
Federation ADDY Awards in Duluth in February.
Phil Choo, assistant professor, Department of Art &
Design, received Gold Addys for the Tweed Museum of Art Holocaust as
Subject Catalog, his Interactive Portfolio CD Rom, and the Art and Design
Lecture Series 2004-2005 poster. The Art and Design Lecture Series poster,
which was designed with the help of UROP student, Kayla Stearns, also
won a Judges Row award.
AdMax Agency received a Silver Addy Award for the Glensheen
Presentation Brochure, which they did on behalf of UMD.
WestmorelandFlint received six awards for work they did
on behalf of UMD. Gold Addys were awarded for the Athletics Power Play
Endowment Fund Brochure, The College of Science & Engineering Booklet,
and Waste Management Hockey Cards. Silver Addys were awarded to the
Athletics Men's Hockey Media Guide, the Athletic Poster Campaign and
a UMD Magazine Ad.
In addition, Art & Design senior Jenna Akre won second
prize in the Lake Superior Advertising Federation Scholarship competition
for her work "I name the violence in my life --- and declare it
wrong." done for Safe Haven crisis shelter.
