Over 1,100 runners are affiliated with UMD! Stop by the UMD Alumni hospitality tent - a great spot to cheer on the runners as they round the bend to the finish line and a perfect meeting place for family and friends after the race.

Grandma's Marathon is a 26.2 mile race from Two Harbors to Duluth with over 7,300 registered. It started in 1977 when a group of 150 local runners who planned a scenic road race from Two Harbors to Duluth, Minnesota. The marathon was named after its first major sponsor, the Duluth-based chain of Grandma's restaurants. Now, this popular marathon is ranked in the top ten U.S. marathons and draws participants from across the globe. Racers, Duluthians and visitors celebrate the event's activities including live entertainment, great food and activities for young and old.
Runners: It's an easy walk to the UMD Alumni hospitality tent, just north on the Lake Walk from the finish line! Fans: It's accessible from the Lake Walk and the east side of Lake Avenue.
The UMD hospitality tent features: shade, shelter, coffee, food, prize drawings, beverages, music by KUMD, UMD Stores Merchandise, friends, and fun! Sign up at the Liberty Mutual table for prizes. Drawings will be held every half hour. The grand prize is a Flip Video Mino Camcorder.

10 a.m. - 2 p.m. BBQ lunch catered by Bellisios: burger or veggie burger, baked beans, coleslaw, cookie and soft drink.
Lunch reservations are requested in advance. The UMD Alumni office wants to have enough food and beverage for all. Call the UMD Alumni office at 866-726-7164 to reserve with credit card. Pre-pay by June 14 at $8/meal and after June 14 at $10/meal. Lunch is free to UMD runners - just show your race bib.
