Lake Superior sparkles and gleams, and it's waiting for you. UMD's Recreational Sports Outdoor Program (RSOP) offers unique courses no matter what your skill level is. Wild Woman! Climb and Kayak
For women only: Scale cliffs, dip oars, be active on July 23 from 9am–5pm. Begin the day at Silver Cliff, just north of Two Harbors, and climb on gently-angled lakeside cliffs. After a leisurely picnic lunch with Lake Superior at your feet, paddle out in a sea kayak and explore the craggy shoreline from the water. $125 per person
Class I-II Whitewater Kayak River Running
Level 1 ACA Pro School Course. Spend three days learning how to paddle, maneauver, and streamline your kayak skills. You'll learn about equipment design, stroke techniques, rescues, kayak rolling, water safety and river hydrology. Sound intense? It is. By day three, you'll combine and use all the lessons during a whitewater river running experience. You'll have a plethora of kayak knowledge that will last for many summers to come. Meet at the Outpost and spend July 22-24 from 9am-4pm learning and enjoying recreational kayaking. $355 per person
Stand-Up Paddleboarding & Wave Surfing Intro - Level 1
Get a full body workout with this popular hybrid adventure sport on July 31 from 9am-4pm. You'll spend time on flatwater and then on water with ski boat wakes to develop your stance options, balance, stroke techniques, board trim and wave surfing skills. Meet at Island Lake, just 15 miles north of Duluth. $130 per person
