ALL DAY: Dem Bones: Geological Sciences assistant
professor Tim Demko and his students will prep dinosaur bones for
all to see and answer questions from the audience. On the hour and
the half hour, they’ll describe the bone prep process. |
Musical Magic: UMD Department of Music
voice students Katherine Gallagher, Nathan Herfindahl, and Amy Hagensen
perform a variety of musical styles, from opera to show tunes. |
Wicked Rocks: Scott Wolter will
show part of the largest collection of Lake Superior agates in the
world including the Native American Minnehaha Falls artifact. Also
hear about the Kensington Rune Stone. |
Robotic Rush: See UMD's 2005 ASME robot.
UMD's mechanical engineering students won an award for this robot.
Watch it carry a bag of rice up the stairs and go around corners!
Prof. Dave Wyrick will explain how students demonstrated their technical
knowledge, creativity and teamwork. |
