OIR Mission Statement
The Office of Institutional Research (OIR) seeks to play a key role in securing and continuing the academic excellence at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD). OIR strives to provide accurate information alongside excellence in analysis and interpretation with the intent of supporting assessment, informed decision making, and strategic planning to all levels of the University.
By serving as the principle analytic representative on behalf of the University, OIR generates datasets of strategic importance based on various internal and external data sources. Utilizing the national and University of Minnesota system-wide databases, OIR at UMD conducts various types of research concerning the enhancement of its operations and the higher education system as a whole.
