Strategic Enrollment Management

Aligned with UMD’s mission and vision statements, strategic enrollment management (SEM) is an evolving approach to integrating all programs, practices, policies, and planning related to achieving the optimal recruitment, retention, and graduation of students.  SEM is aligned with system goals and will be reported in the UMD Accountability Report to the Board of Regents.

Recent Updates:

SEM announces a call for retention grant proposals supporting student success and retention. The first round of grants has been awarded. Proposals will continue to be accepted over the summer.

The Action Plan for Student Retention was released in March. A breakfast recognizing the individuals and programs contributing to this effort was hosted by Chancellor Black and the SEM subcommittee on March 28, 2016.

Review of action items and comments from the November 4 Chancellor's Town Hall meeting is underway and will continue into spring semester. SEM has made some initial referrals to the University Coordinating Council and to the Council of Deans.

More than 125 UMD faculty, staff, and students attended the November 4 Chancellor's Town Hall meeting and participated in discussions focused on further improving student success on our campus. Review table discussion notes and view SEM's introductory presentation.
