The SEM Council Interim Report was forwarded to Chancellor Black and Executive Vice Chancellor Schokker on February 13, 2012. The report provides an overview of the council's fall semester activities and progress and demonstrates some of the complexities and intersections that are fundamental to UMD's strategic enrollment management process. The report has been reviewed by the Chancellor's Cabinet, Council of Deans, and the Integrated Strategic Advisory Team (ISAT).

Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI): UMD Strengths and Opportunities
UMD implemented the SSI in fall semester 2011. All undergraduate, degree-seeking students were invited to participate. Twenty-seven percent, or 2658 students, completed the survey.

Undergraduate Competitor Analysis (requires login to your UMD Google account, e.g. Gmail, prior to selecting link)
The competitor analysis provides a valuable perspective of UMD's advantages, challenges, and opportunities in the marketplace. Six competitor institutions were included. The competitor analysis is based on external data sources, i.e. the same informational sources college-bound students and their parents often access during the college inquiry process.

SEM Council submitted enrollment goal recommendations to Chancellor Black and EVC Schokker in May 2012. Based on comprehensive analysis of internal and external environment data and priorities stated in UMD's Strategic Plan, SEM Council recommends intentional, steady movement toward shaping the profile of the students enrolled at UMD. This profile takes into consideration a variety of subpopulations: undergraduate, graduate and non-degree seeking students, new freshmen, transfer and continuing students, under-represented and international students, Minnesota resident and out-of-state students, and traditional and non-traditional age students.

SEM Council submitted a set of strategies aligned with recommended enrollment goals to Chancellor Black and EVC Schokker in May 2012. Previous SEM reports, Interim Report on Strategic Management and Enrollment Goal Recommendations, provide the contextual framework for the strategies.

In September 2011, a Noel-Levitz consultant was invited to campus to review current UMD enrollment processes. His report represents findings based on an initial review of enrollment data and meetings with campus administrators, faculty, staff, and students. Please note that UMD is not currently contracted with Noel-Levitz for the proposed consulting services.
