Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies Assistant Professor
I grew up in San Diego, California, and took my A.A degree in English and my B.A. in English and Interdisciplinary Studies in Critical Theory in my home state. I moved to Minnesota for graduate school, and completed my Ph.D. in Comparative Literature in the department of Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus. I have a decade of experience teaching college students in a variety of subjects, from literature and critical theory to art history, new media and film, and even Darwinian evolution.
My research interests include contemporary U.S. literature and literary theory, cinema studies, critical race, class, and gender theories, postcolonial theory, and new media studies. I’m excited to be a part of Women’s Studies at UMD, and to work with such wonderful students and colleagues!
